Ontario has a relatively clean electricity grid with a range of diverse resources, including nuclear, hydro, and renewables. However, the system is in flux, with major repairs planned for the nuclear sector, new renewables and storage methods being added in Lanark County. As well, the province has plans to add additional natural gas plants which will result in higher emissions from electricity. There is an opportunity to influence the development of Ontario’s electricity system.
